Lillian Lawrence
Sew It Seams was established in March of 1982 by Lillian Lawrence. She operated the business full time until her illness in 2000. As she became unable to conduct day to day transactions, many of her friends and a few employees maintained the store. At one time there were as many as twelve people working or volunteering. Most worked one day a week only and they became Lillian's "Angels"
Sadly, Lillian passed away in May of 2003 however, the "Angels" were able to keep the store open and running to assist our fellow quilters. I was able to purchase the store in October of 2008.

Dianna Vaccarella
My name is Dianna Vaccarella and I was not a quilter until meeting Lillian in 1996. She was one of my best and closest friends and led me down this path I never realized the Good Lord had in store for me. My husband and I live in Newport with our four children and are very active in our community and children's activities. I do find time to quilt because it has become a passion of mine and a means for me to do some good in the world. My goal is to continue Lillian's dream by maintaining an outlet for our fellow quilters. I try my best to keep a friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the store and yes, sometimes I talk too much!! If you need help, I will be glad to help you as best I can or make suggestions on where you can get better help. Although some have moved on to greener pastures, we still have some "Angels" with us and they give me much needed guidance, assistance, and sometimes a sanity check. I could not do this without them. I also appreciate those of you that come in and say "I am glad you are still here". That always seems to come at just the right time.
So that is the history in a nutshell until now. To those of you who are in it, I hope you realize your footprints are important. Those of you who are not, I hope you realize you are more welcome to come make some!
Happy Quilting!
