Batting
Batting is available at Sew It Seams or you may bring your own purchased elsewhere. Recommended choices are Quilter's Dream Poly, Dream Puff, Dream Blend or Dream Cotton Select Loft, and Warm & Natural. Battings that are thin and stretchy do not do well on a long arm machine as you need to tug on the batting to get it smooth. This could lead to tears or holes in the batting.Thread
We have several thread choices in stock and are always adding to the collection. There are several variegated choices or you could choose a solid. Variegated threads are only used in the top. A solid bobbin thread would be used for the backing to match the backing and coordinate with the top thread. Not all threads can be used in the machine therefore we request that you chose thread from what we have in stock. Some of the threads are cotton and others polyester. YLI threads cannot be used do to excessive breakage.Turn around tim
Typical turn around time is 6 weeks. Quilts are completed in the order they are received with some exceptions. During busy times, customers who do not need their quilt within the normal turn around time sometimes agree to wait longer allowing other quilts to jump ahead. Also, if my allotted quilting time will not allow for a large project to be completed, I will do the next one if it is smaller or work on a quilt that needs to be rushed. When dropping off a quilt, I can give you an approximate completion date. If you need it completed sooner, I can try to work it in for an extra fee.My Experience
I have been quilting on a long arm since 2001 and during the past few years have completed approximately 100 quilts per year. I also attend seminars and workshops whenever possible. The most recent being "Quilting by Machine" offered by the Ohio Long Arm Association. The machine is privately owned.
